Most cats don't drink enough water. A still bowl sitting in the corner doesn't register as interesting, and plenty of cats will walk past it all day.
Moving water is different. Cats notice it, and a fountain usually gets used far more than the bowl it replaced.
The drinking tray is 304 stainless steel. That's the food-grade spec, not the cheaper 201 that goes into most fountains at this price. Steel doesn't scratch into grooves that trap bacteria, and it doesn't pick up the plastic taste that puts some cats off drinking altogether.
The tray is wide and shallow, so your cat's whiskers aren't pressed against the sides. Some cats don't care about this. The ones that do, care a lot.
Water runs through a filter of medical stone, activated carbon and zeolite before it reaches the tray, catching hair, sediment and the taste of chlorine. The filter lasts around three months.
It holds 3.2 litres, which is about a week for one cat. The pump is quiet enough to sit in a bedroom. Everything comes apart for cleaning, and there's a non-slip base underneath.

Care
- Wash all removable parts before first use.
- Rinse the tray and refill with fresh water every one to two days.
- Take the pump apart and clean it every two weeks. Hair and sediment collect inside and will make it noisy.
- Replace the filter roughly every three months, sooner in hard-water areas or multi-pet homes.
- Keep the water above the minimum line. Running the pump dry will damage it.
- Unplug it before cleaning.
- Never put the power adapter or plug in water. The pump is submersible, the adapter is not.
